Hello, everyone! Here's the rundown of what's happening at Bat Studios in regards to "Light My Way".

Sprites

We went through such a rollercoaster with the Itch and Patreon issues, but it all worked out. Chapter 2 is finally out and with that, it's important to mention a big change that's coming to Chapter 3. We will not continue with the current sprite set. Patreons have noticed there are some inconsistencies between the sprites and the story, the reason being more effort (and money) to change the current sprite set to fit the narrative. Since we plan on changing the sprite set, these small alterations made no sense anymore. Chapter 3 will feature the entirely revamped sprites. Rlion, our current illustration artist, will redo the sprites in his style so everything will look similar throughout the entire novel. This also means an expected delay for Chapter 3. Sprites and illustrations take time, but they are all well worth it. We will all hopefully get everything ready around mid-September. 

Translations

We are currently working in parallel with several translators. We will hopefully have more languages ready soon enough. Our list of additional languages that are currently in the works are as follows: Spanish, German, simplified Chinese, and Romanian. We will try to get the new languages out directly with the release of new chapters. We focused on only English for Chapter 2 in order to put it out as promised. Although it might take longer to put out everything at the same time, it's going to be worth it. There are plenty of people who prefer reading in their native language rather than English and these people shouldn't have to wait an extra week or more for the new chapter to be available. We'll do our best to try to balance everything in order to put out a well-crafted product.

Eurofurence

In other news, I will be at Eurofurence 27, which will further delay progress. However, you will be able to find me at the Artist's Alley as I will be promoting the novel there. So if you're interested in taking a picture with a big banner featuring the new Lucian sprite, come by and say hello! I will also have some small prints with me with illustrations from the novel. You can purchase them there if you're interested. And most importantly, you can ask me questions about Light My Way. I will answer them gladly as long as they won't be questions that spoil the story. I don't want to give out what will happen in the next chapters, so any questions about "the light" will be met with a smile, but nothing else :)
