Here's an update on how things are at the moment. 

Chapter 5 - ongoing production

We're still working on Chapter 5 since we got new ideas about how it should be presented. We want to give our best every time and it's hard work. I don't want to give out another possible release date and then not deliver. We're working daily on this though, so it's not like we're just sitting around doing nothing. We each try to put more input than before but it's not easy. But we are making progress and that's what's important. We'll aim for the next two weeks to be able to release including the Chinese translation. The Spanish translation has been done and it's integrated already. 

YouTube Coverage

There are 3 channels currently on YouTube that have decided to make videos about Light My Way. I was notified via Discord about these and went and checked them out. It's nice to see some feedback on the first chapters. I do have to mention that I plan on adding some more inner thoughts for Lucian in the first chapters. The main reason is that this is not a college drama or a dating sim. I can see how readers get that idea considering that I decided not to add too much thriller at the beginning of the story, opting for a more slow-burn approach in terms of build-up with a big bang in the middle. However, that only works if people know what they're getting into and know that it will show up sooner rather than later. One could easily stop reading after the end of Chapter 2 because, well...nothing thrilling is happening aside from a bit of conflict here and there. Which leads me to my next point.

Chapter 1-3 - Edits, enhancing the atmosphere

I have plans to edit these chapters before releasing Chapter 6. There are too many things that I noticed about how the story goes and there are parts that I need to enhance. I believe the focus isn't nearly strong enough on how Lucian feels. I haven't done the best job describing his issues the way that I see them. There are comments about him how he's a prick or an asshole, and he has some parts that make him that sure, but not in the way that I have seen people talk about it. So in order to get the "real" description of Lucian out there, I want to re-do some parts that show the reader that the main point of, for example, the Atlas and Lucian scene is not sex itself because "horny and drunk", that the sex is simply a by-product of the situation. I didn't go for a lot of fluff because I wanted the story to sweep the reader away, to grab the reader, and not let go. I believe I managed to do that for the most part, but there will always be room for improvement and that's what I am aiming for. We will also add more SFX and possibly animation to the first chapters. Hopefully, we'll bring those chapters up to the increasing quality of the latter chapters.

Personal mental state (This section has no relevant information regarding Light My Way, so feel free to skip it)

This is a combination of situations. I have already posted about this much more in depth on my Patreon and most of my readers should know by now that I will start working full-time again in May. I have to prepare a considerable amount before that, so my free time has gone down significantly. As did my mental fortitude to sit my ass down and write more. It's a focus thing and between still having issues with the apartment that I have to fix up after my mother's passing for the landlord to be satisfied, starting work again in a full-time capacity, and additional stress that my good-for-nothing brother who didn't even come to the funeral is giving me, I'm not able to concentrate properly on what needs to be done. I already know it's a depression thing, and I know that it will pass. It comes in waves though. I have days when I can get through everything and then there are other days when I have to force myself out of bed to eat something. It's going to be alright in the end. Once things settle down, I'm sure I'll get back to writing with a renewed sense of purpose. Time heals everything.
