Hello Bat Studios supporters,

As we're getting closer to releasing Chapter 5 (it's a good one :D ), I want to talk to you about our plans to lean more on Ko-fi rather than Patreon. I made a post about this on our Discord server. This is the explanation for our decision to do this: 

Ko-fi

I have recently been told to check out Ko-fi as an alternative to Patreon. After looking at the percentages and how the platform works, I would appreciate it if you would support us via Ko-fi rather than Patreon. I posted this in the announcements but would like to write about it in a bit more detail. If I would sign up for Gold Membership on Ko-fi it would cost 72€ for a full year.  It might seem like a lot, but hear me out. This membership would allow Bat Studios to take 100% of your donations and/or membership fees. That's right. We would get the total amount that you want to support us with. Yay!

Patreon

Our Patreon has been a cornerstone of our support, and we plan to keep it running for those who prefer it. However, to give you an idea of the costs involved, we've spent around 87.11€ in fees over the last 4 months alone. This has prompted us to consider alternatives that might be more sustainable in the long run.

Etsy Shop

I will also close down the Etsy shop and migrate it to Ko-fi because they will offer that service as well at 0% fees (it's included in the Gold Membership). The new Ko-fi shop will also have better pricing for all the items. I simply didn't have the necessary willpower to get to it. It will be done soon-ish. 

Why Ko-fi?

We believe Ko-fi aligns better with our pace and style of content creation. Unlike platforms that reward frequent postings, Ko-fi suits our project-focused approach, allowing us to channel more into each chapter and enhancing the overall experience. Every chapter we create has a production cost of about 500€-600€, not including the countless hours spent on writing, editing, animation, and other creative processes. Even a 5€ donation is a significant boost for us, helping us bring more to each chapter.

A Suggestion To Our Fellow FVN Creators

For fellow creators and supporters in the furry visual novel community, we suggest considering Ko-fi for its potential savings on fees, which could be reinvested into your projects. This is merely a suggestion based on our experience so please keep that in mind.

For those willing and able to support us, we gently encourage exploring Ko-fi as a way to do so. It's a platform that offers direct downloads of the latest builds and supports community features like Discord roles, all while ensuring your support has the maximum impact.
